Stacy grew up on a farm near the small town of Portsmouth, IA and graduated from Harlan Community High School. Initially set on becoming a lawyer, her career plans shifted when she took an accounting class during her senior year of high school. In college, she pursued a double major in Political Science and Accounting with the initial intention of attending law school. Her passion for accounting ultimately won out. Stacy graduated from Simpson College in 1996 and began her career in public accounting at a prominent firm in Des Moines.
After relocating to the Council Bluffs area, Stacy joined a local firm in Omaha, NE and passed her CPA exam in 2000. She eventually crossed back over the river and has been working in Council Bluffs since 2009. In 2016, Stacy passed the IRS exams to become an Enrolled Agent (EA). Then, in 2019, she founded Accurate Accounting, LLC -- officially opening her business on her birthday, February 18. Stacy is experienced in all aspects of public accounting and specializes in tax and accounting services for individuals and small businesses.
Stacy is married to Ian and has three children - Meghan, Jarred, and Bradey. Outside of tax season, she enjoys live local music, is an avid reader, and loves that her husband does most of the cooking.
Amanda grew up on a small family farm outside Sidney, IA watching her grandmother doing the farm bookkeeping by hand on thirteen-column ledgers. She always had a knack for math and science throughout school and planned on entering the medical field for a career. She took an accounting class her senior year of high school and got hooked. She entered college as a declared accounting major and earned her degree in Accounting from Buena Vista University in 2007.
Amanda worked in both public and private accounting in her early career before spending nearly a decade as a stay-at-home parent, returning to the accounting field in August 2023. She enjoys getting to know her clients and helping them have the most accurate information to make the best decisions for their businesses and families.
Amanda is married to Scott and has two daughters; Katie & Charlotte. In her spare time, she enjoys singing in a community women's choir, testing new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.
Lisa was born and raised in Atlantic, IA and moved to Council Bluffs to attend Iowa Western Community College. She earned an Associate of Art degree in business before earning her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Buena Vista University. Prior to joining Accurate Accounting, Lisa has 25 years of prior tax experience including nine years with Dickinson & Clark, CPAs.
Lisa is a full-time controller for the nonprofit CUES Fund/CUES School System. Prior to joining CUES, she worked for six years for the nonprofits Educare of Omaha and Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative. Other finance experience includes 18 years in hospitality and nine years in manufacturing.
Lisa and her husband Dick have been married for over 40 years and currently reside in Crescent. They have two adult children, Carl & Caye, along with soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Madison. Also living at home are the two fur babies, Mason & Baxter. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys sewing, gardening, and volunteering with the Iowa State Extension Master Gardeners, 4-H, and Westfair.
